Provincial Chapter Meets — The Augustinians

Provincial Chapter Meets

The friars of the Province of Saint Thomas of Villanova will gather from June 10 to June 15 in Chapter for the official installation of the Prior Provincial who was elected in February, and to choose members of his Council, a Province Secretary and Treasurer, all of whom will form the administration of the Province for the next four years. Re-elected to a second term was Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, OSA, who will present his nominees to the assembled friars for their approval. A Provincial Chapter is held every two years and a new administration assumes its duties every fourth year. The Chapter, which will bring together all friars, except those excused for reasons of health or advanced age, will assess the life and work of the Province over the past four years and will formulate a program to be carried out in the ensuing term. Approximately 125 friars will gather on the campus of Villanova University for the five-day assembly. We are grateful for the prayers of our many friends and associates in the preparation and celebration of this important moment in the life of the Province as we gather in prayer, conversation and planning under the leadership of the Order's Prior General, Fr. Alejandro Moral Anton, OSA.

Father Michael DiGregorio, O.S.A., remarks on the changes occurring within the Province in his article entitled Province Life, A Time of Transition, in the AUGUSTINIAN Magazine.
