Merrimack College, a Catholic College in the Augustinian Tradition, will hold an ecumenical prayer service to mark the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation at the Collegiate Church of Christ the Teacher on Monday, October 30, 2017. Merrimack was founded and sponsored by the Order of Saint Augustine, the same Order to which Martin Luther belonged. Joe Kelley and the Center for the Study of Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations is primary sponsor of the event.
Bishop Robert Hennessy, of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, and Bishop James Hazelwood, of the New England Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America will co-preside at a Vespers Service. A chorus of combined choirs from churches and organizations in the area will enrich our common worship Refreshments will be served at a reception after the service. Reception at the Sanctuary Cafe.
