Bonner & Prendergast High School Remembers Father Bill Atkinson. O.S.A.

Father Bill Atkinson, O.S.A., (1946-2006), would have turned 70 on January 4th, and the high school where Father Bill served for almost 30 years, now the co-ed Bonner&Prendergast High School, held a week-long celebration to share his legacy with the students. Beginning on Monday, each morning and afternoon, teachers and friends who knew Father Bill took to the PA system to read his favorite prayers, his own poetry and share personal stories about the friar and friend who is now a "Servant of God" with the official opening of the "Cause of Canonization" in 2015. Sister Anne Brigid, IHM, had a personal encounter with each student during their Theology class where she showed a Powerpoint presentation about Father Bill. Friday was about cake for everyone, capping off a sweet and thoughtful remembrance of Father Bill on the 70th anniversary of his birth.
