From CatholicPhilly.com article, ‘Teens invited to summer study program, now online’:

“Young men in their junior and senior year of high school are invited to study St. Augustine’s “Confessions” in a virtual reading group with the 2020 Philadelphia Catholic Scholars Program.

The group will meet online daily July 13-17 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. to discuss the work of the fourth century North African bishop and doctor of the church, ask questions and join one another in prayer.

New Banners at the Shrine
On June 24th beautiful new banners were installed on Broad Street! Six new banners were donated and are a great extension of the Shrine and our ministry in Philadelphia.

Saint Rita, pray for us!

A Message from Lacie Michaelson,
Executive Director of A.D.R.O.P
"Confusion, fear, and anxiety were major elements of the past year, especially this past Spring. While A.D.R.O.P. faced significant challenges and road blocks, we also find ourselves energized and motivated to adjust to this “new normal.” English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are now taught online, the Unity Clinic will soon reopen using telehealth options, and Adeodatus and Mary Mother of Captive meetings are now convened via zoom. While this past year was unlike any other, we’re pleased to continue our mission of building bridges between those who have skills and services and those in need. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and financial support, we depend on you, our community, and we’re so grateful."

Augustinian Volunteers Take Part in End of Year Retreat
While this year was anything but ordinary, the 20th class of Augustinian Volunteers completed their year of service with a retreat that took place from June 23rd- June 25th. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the retreat was moved to a virtual format. Volunteers were still able to share meaningfully about their experiences of service and reflect on their experiences of community. Despite the challenges of the adaptations brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, the volunteers never lost their sense of humor!
