National Shrine of St. Rita of Cascia News
Great progress is being made on the new Cascia Center! The basement level was completed at the end of January, and already has its cement roof in place. Both the elevator shaft and stair tower have also been completed and offer a good gauge of just how tall five stories actually are! Interior design elements have been chosen, and in the past week, steel framing for the building has started to be installed. The anticipated completion date is still early October 2021! Saint Rita, pray for us!
Join the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 for a special hour of Reconciliation, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, and an inspirational Witness talk by Ms. Madeline Caputo, a longtime Shrine patron. This monthly evening is open to anyone who needs a few moments of prayer, encouragement, and mercy in their lives. (Please note: This evening was rescheduled from February 3, 2021 due to inclement weather).

SAINT PAUL MIKI AND COMPANIONS

"On the cross the Lord made the great exchange. There the purse which held our price was opened, for when the soldier’s spear opened his side, the price of the whole world poured forth. Thus he purchased the faithful and the martyrs. But the faith of the martyrs has been tested; their blood is the proof. They paid back the price Christ paid for them, thus fulfilling the words of Saint John: Just as Christ laid down his life for us, we too must lay down our lives for our brothers."
