Ensuring a Strong Presence of Augustinians into the Future

Villanova Alumnus Anthony Dellomo came to Villanova University in 1961 from Staten Island, New York. He was lost and home sick. He met Fr. Richard D. Appicci, O.S.A. who took him under his wing and guided him. Anthony met many other Augustinians through Fr. Appicci and he attached himself to the Augustinian charism and mission.

Anthony’s friendship with Fr. Appicci grew and he kept in touch with his family and him after he went to Peru to be a missionary. Upon his return to Villanova 20 years later, he reconnected with Fr. Appicci. He traveled to Peru many times and became devoted to helping others by his example. Anthony has supported the Richard D. Appicci, O.S.A. Fund through annual gifts to continue his life’s work. He has also named the Augustinians in his Will because he wants his legacy to be the bright light for young people in their faith and in giving back to those less fortunate. “Without Fr. Appicci, I would have never finished Villanova. He provided the light for me, and I hope my legacy provides that light for others.”
