Ash Wednesday Schedule
Begin your season of Lent with the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia! Our commemoration of Ash Wednesday will include the distribution of ashes at each of our liturgies, as well as two opportunities to partake in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. If you're in the city and you're looking for a peaceful place to pray, feel free to stop by!
Healing Mass
Do you find yourself mentally, physically, spiritually, socially, or emotionally burdened? The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia invites you to join us for our next Healing Mass! We will gather on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Upper Church to pray for Saint Rita’s healing intercession, and to offer a special blessing with Saint Rita oil. Fr. Michael Di Gregorio, O.S.A. will serve as the celebrant and homilist. Confessions will be offered beginning at 11:30 a.m. We hope to see you there!
Stations of the Cross
Consider joining the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia for a weekly meditation on the Stations of the Cross. Each Wednesday evening of Lent at 7:00 p.m., we will utilize a different style of the stations to reflect more deeply on the life and passion of Christ. All are welcome!
Construction Update on the Cascia Center
Great progress is being made on the new Cascia Center! The basement level was completed at the end of January, and already has its cement roof in place. Both the elevator shaft and stair tower have also been completed and offer a good gauge of just how tall five stories actually are! Interior design elements have been chosen, and in the past week, steel framing for the building has started to be installed. The anticipated completion date is still early October 2021! Saint Rita, pray for us!
